Apple is launching a new Measure app in iOS 12 in the next few months that will let you size anything with just your iPhone.

You no longer have to go searching for a tape measure while hanging pictures or when trying to determine if a couch will fit in your living room.

I recently tried the new Measure app in Apple's iOS 12 developer beta. It uses the advanced cameras on newer iPhones like the iPhone X, and will presumably work on Apple's new batch of devices coming soon.

Other augmented reality apps — the type that let you interact with the real world through your phone — have been available in the iTunes App Store and for Android phones. But this is the first time Apple has introduced its own version.

Here's a preview.

First, you'll open the 'Measure' app in iOS 12. Again, this is only in the developer beta right now.

Then you'll move the phone around so it can sense the objects in the room.

Then you'll choose a point where you want to start measuring.

And then point your iPhone at the end to get a full measurement. Recently the leaked image of Xiaomi second bezel less phone Mi Mix 2 got a great appreciation for the device being totally bezel less. Confirming about the device, Xiaomi has officially informed that the Mi MIX 2 smartphone will be unveiled at an event on September 11.

The second generation of the popular Mi Mix series of smartphones has undergone several leaks and rumors, but now the Chinese smartphone manufacturer has confirmed that the launch will take place in Beijing, according to a Weibo report. While the report says that the event will take place at the University of Technology Gymnasium in the capital, however, the time of the launch event has not been unveiled yet.

The smartphone will be designed by Philippe Starck, the same French designer who previously worked on the original Mi MIX. The designer recently shared a concept design video of the Mi MIX 2 to build the excitement, days ahead of the launch. Based on the leaks and speculation, the second-generation Mi MIX 2 will feature a screen-to-body ratio of 93 per cent. That means the screen will completely dominate the front face of the smartphone, similar to that of the Essential smartphone.

Most of the notable fact about the device launch is the launch date of the device is one day prior to iPhone 8 launch event of Apple. As we all know this year iPhone 8 will have the bezel less display and other interesting features.

Specification of Mi Mix 2 

According to various leaks, the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 will run the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. This is a common chipset available on most flagship devices. This phone is expected to come in the 6GB RAM variant. However, it won’t be surprising if the Chinese company comes up with an 8GB RAM model of the Mi MIX 2. In terms of display, the Mi MIX could feature a big 6.4-inch QHD display with 1440×2560 resolution. When it comes to the camera, this phone might not have the dual setup.

The rear camera is expected to be of 19MP and the selfie shooter of 13MP. With such massive specs, the phone will feature at least a 4,500mAh battery. While the feature of facial recognition is a thing Apple may introduce in the iPhone 8, some reports have said that even Xiaomi may bring the same on the Mi MIX 2.

Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 is expected to be launched with the bit higher price tag compared to last year Mi MIX. This year Xiaomi may price the device 45,000 in Indian rupees and approx $750.  

However, since the Mi MIX did not come to India, there is a big question mark on the launch of Mi MIX 2. However, since Xiaomi India Vice President shared an image of the phone from his own Twitter handle, there is a big chance that the phone may come to India.

Apple is all set the launch their new flagship device iPhone 8 in the beginning of next month. As per the reports on Wall Street Journal, the device is expected to be launched with other two devices named iPhone 7S and iPhone 7S Plus on 12th of September.

As we all are aware that 2017 is the 10th anniversary of iPhone launch and the iPhone 8, which is expected to be the special 10th-anniversary device with regular iPhone 7S and iPhone 7S Plus. iPhone 8 most high end of three new iPhones, including the iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus, will reportedly allow users to interact with the phone through swipe gestures from the bottom of the screen. As per the Bloomberg.

This aligns with earlier reports that suggested Apple was either removing the home button entirely or moving part of it, including the Touch ID fingerprint sensor, to the back of the phone. A note from KGI Securities in July, for example, said Apple was still trying to embed the fingerprint reader underneath the display, though Apple may have bailed on those plans due to manufacturing issues.

Bloomberg said gestures will allow users to multitask with multiple apps and return to the home screen, the latter of which is one of the current primary functions of the home button.

Speaking of the iPhone 8’s display, 2017 will mark the first year Apple will shift from an LCD panel to an OLED panel in the iPhone.

Like Samsung’s class-leading Galaxy phones, Apple’s iPhone 8 will feature an OLED panel. Also like Samsung’s recent Galaxy phones, the iPhone 8 display is expected to be a flexible panel that curves on either side at the edges. As we noted above, however, we expect the curve to be much more subtle just a slight downward bend for styling.

Last but not least, Apple is finally expected to adopt wireless charging in the iPhone 8.

Rumors have been swirling for more than a year that Apple may be working with Energous to add long-range wireless charging to the iPhone. The technology would allow an iPhone to be charged wirelessly by a special base station from across a room, at distances of up to 15 feet. While the two companies may or may not be working together and, according to a new in-depth analysis, they are not working together at all it seems unlikely that Energous’ technology would be ready in time for a September iPhone launch.

Instead, it’s increasingly likely that the iPhone will feature standard inductive wireless charging similar to what Apple uses on the Apple Watch. This technology uses magnets to transmit energy, and it requires the target device to make contact with a charging mat in order to charge.
